Inflation and price increases for services and products make us look for savings. This is especially true for seniors. Not all of them know, in some cases they are also entitled to more than one pension supplement after the age of 65. Who can count on them and what are they about?

Some seniors can count on up to PLN 1,500 a month. All thanks to the Mama+ benefit
The Mama 4+ benefit applies to both seniors. To receive them, two conditions must be met. The first is to raise at least four children. The second is the age threshold.
- For women 60 years,
- For men 65 years. What is important, the benefit will be granted to men bringing up children whose mother died, abandoned them or did not take part in their lives.
The benefit is granted by the Social Insurance Institution, however its amount depends on the parent’s situation. If he does not receive any money, it will amount to the minimum pension, i.e. PLN 1,588.44. In turn, people who receive financial support, but less than the minimum, will supplement this amount. This means that if a parent receives PLN 1,000 in benefits, they will receive PLN 588.44 from the 4+ program.
Supplement for seniors in the amount of PLN 200. However, ZUS will not pay it
For extra PLN 200 every month until retirement Seniors who have performed a special function for a long enough time (25 years for men and 20 years for women) may apply, have actively participated in actions and have reached the required age, i.e. 60 years for women, 65 years for men. We are talking about firefighters from the OSP and mountain rescuers from TOPR and GOPR. In this case, however, the benefit will not be paid by ZER MSWiA, where the application must be submitted in advance.
500+ for a senior not only for seniors. Who can count on extra money?
Another supplementary benefit is “500 plus for seniors”. Importantly, not only seniors can apply for them, but any person who:
- turned 18,
- is incapable of independent existence,
- the benefits received do not exceed the amount of PLN 2,157.80.
However, it is worth knowing that the full amount of the supplement can be counted on by persons who receive less than PLN 1,657.80 from other benefits. For those who receive more, but still less than PLN 2,157.80, it will be reduced.
