Sarah Fergusonex-wife of Prince Andrew and mother of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, will not be at the coronation of King Charles III on May 6 at Westminster Abbey.

The Duchess of York previously commented in an interview with ITV that he did not expect to be at the coronation and said his plans for the day included “get a little tea room and a coronation chicken sandwich and get the flags out that’s what i’m gonna do“.

She said she was watching the coronation at home with her corgi, muick and ferguswhich he adopted after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

“I also like to watch it on TV because it is heard a lot on TV. The commentators are always so good,” commented the duchess, who implied that she was not invited due to the current situation with Andrés. “Remember, I’m divorced from him“, he said. “You can’t have both. You can’t get a divorce and then say, ‘I want this.’ You’re either in or you’re out,” he said.

Sarah and Andrés married in 1986 and separated in 1992. She distanced herself from the royal family after being linked to a series of scandals. However, the duchess and duke still live together today.

Despite the controversy, Elizabeth II publicly supported her, and in the last month of her reign she made sure to support the duchess and spend a lot of time with her, even walking together in Windsor Park.

A friend said: “The Queen thought Sarah was warm and loyal, almost to a fault, and also fun.“.

British royal commentator Ingrid Stewart said The Independent that the decision not to invite Fergie was “not a matter of personal preference, but of protocol.”

“Fergie has not been invited to any official royal events since the divorce. Being an ex-wife, she wouldn’t expect to be invitedStewart said.

Andrés and princesses Beatriz and Eugenia will be present.
