Les Luthiers takes Ecuador on their farewell tour: These are the ticket prices for their show in Quito
Horacio Tato Turano, a cast member since 2000, answered the following questions:
How do you remember Ecuador in your previous presentations?
We have always received a very warm welcome in Ecuador. The crowd, as in most Latin American countries, makes us feel very comfortable, celebrating our jokes and letting us know that we can feel at home.
What do you think changed in the group after Marcos and Daniel left?
Daniel and Marcos took turns announcing their departure. As a human group, we gradually assimilated the loss, with pain and sorrow. As an artistic group, aside from the scenic weight that both had, we continued as we had from the beginning, with the additions that had long been part of the team working as alternates. In short, Les Luthiers automatically recycled itself without changing the essence.
What will you miss most about the scenarios?
Certainly the adrenaline generated by going out to meet our amazing audience and receive that endless applause that we will never stop thanking.
Did you have to change the language in one of the acts to make it understandable in Ecuador?
As in every square we present ourselves in, there are always words that define a situation or finish a joke. These words are the ones we adapt to the country.
In which country have you had to adapt your jokes the most?
Overall not much changes. Possibly Spain.
How did you dream of saying goodbye after so many years of career?
We never dream of a goodbye. The moment came under circumstances that have evolved over time. This year we say goodbye to our audience from the stage, but never from the heart.
