The actor admitted in an interview for BBC that I was overweight as a child. Because of this, other children made fun of him, which gave him low self-confidence and self-esteem. Wanting to get out of that space, he overcame himself and fell in love with rugby and then theater, thus working on his physical and personal development.

Years passed and he stopped being “the fat one”, now he had a toned figure and a passion for theater and acting. He started testing in different casting but his new image was not enough. The actor tried out for the role of James Bond, but was rejected because he was not very thin.

“Look man, you’re in a Bond screen test. Next time you come for a camera test, really focus on fitting in if it’s anything like Bond,” was the scathing criticism he received from the director.

cavill He continued to work on his persona and landed his first major role as Clark Kent, the character who becomes the superhero Superman, who is described as a man of large size, robust and with very pronounced musculature; aspects in which it fits perfectly.
