“365 days”. Part 4 won’t surprise anyone

Some time ago we learned that Blanka Lipińska’s novels are an unusual trilogy. One of the proofs is that – as the author said – the trilogy (sic!) “365 days” will get the 4th part.

– I wrote the fourth part of the trilogy! It will, yes, but when, I don’t know… I started it five years ago, the process is ongoing! – said Blanka Lipińska in an interview with Party.pl in September last year. So far, fans of Lipińska’s work have not been released, and there is certainly demand. The first three books sold very well and were adapted to the screen, which could be watched on Netflix (the first part also had its cinema premiere just before the lockdown in 2020).

It doesn’t matter what they say, as long as they say it

Controversial books, as well as films (accused, among others, of promoting violent sexual behavior) ensured Lipińska the status of one of the most read authors in recent years. Even nominations and Golden Raspberry awards, i.e. statuettes for the worst productions of the year, awarded in opposition to the Oscars, did not shake the popularity of the films. If anything, they only gave it to them. For long weeks, the first part was no. 1 Netflix in many countries, individual scenes or texts became memes and began to go viral on Tik Tok.

“365 Days: This Day” and “Another 365 Days” were also eagerly watched not only in Poland. I. The second part of the series was also named the worst film of the year by Metacritic. In the justification, you could read that it was not even about showing a lot of scenes, but about misogyny. The authors of the list also explained that the production of “Another 365 Days” is not on this list because none of the reviewers were able to force themselves to watch it.

Three films have achieved success, no one would be surprised if “365 days 4” was made

The third film ends with a scene that gives fans of Massim and Laura hope for a continuation of the story, so they wouldn’t be surprised if a “365 Days 4” movie was made. Books are only an inspiration for screenwriters, but it can be assumed that the international success of three films may be tempting to make a fourth. Meanwhile, the producers decided to follow the flow and until there is even material to work on, they created a new film in a similar climate. “Heaven in Hell” hit theaters in February this year. Here, alongside Magdalena Boczarska, Simone Sussina, also known for his films based on Blanka Lipińska’s books, performed.

In recent years, he has shown more and more daring scenes in Polish cinema. Such could be seen after the premiere of “365 days”, even in “Girls from Dubai” and “Temptation” by Maria Sadowska or “Love, Sex and Pandemic”. They raise controversial topics, not necessarily artistic quality, but they attract a solid number of viewers. Both “Girls from Dubai” and “Love, Sex and Pandemic” were in the 20 most watched Polish films in cinemas (17th and 6th respectively; data not provided by UIP). Vega’s film made it to the top twenty of all films shown in cinemas last year, at 17th place.
