Coctail dress. What is it and when is it worth choosing it?
The first was designed by the famous designer Christian Dior. It reached to the middle of the calf and was made of elegant materials. Its name comes from the so-called cocktail-party — elegant, afternoon meetings, usually lasting two or three hours (from 4 pm to 6-7 pm), usually held standing.
What does a cocktail dress look like? What occasions should you wear cocktail dresses for?
A cocktail dress is a semi-elegant dress that has several features:
- length – maxi or knee-length,
- ,
- not too big neckline,
- accentuated hips and waist,
- elegant, sometimes shiny material,
- unlike evening dresses, it can be in bright or bolder colors, have patterns or shiny applications.
A cocktail dress should be different from both daytime and evening outfits. It is an excellent choice for family parties, weddings, weddings, communions, but also theater visits, holidays, dates, gala dinners or cocktail parties. When getting ready for the party, don’t forget about jewelry and appropriately elegant high heels.
Cocktail dress: the perfect choice for a First Communion party
The cocktail dress, due to its features, seems to be the perfect creation for spring communion parties. The mother of a child making her First Communion can certainly bet on it. A cocktail dress is an outfit that is elegant enough, and at the same time quite comfortable – as you know, mothers usually have many tasks during the entire ceremony, so they must be comfortable, and at the same time elegant and feminine. When deciding on a cocktail dress for the First Communion, it is worth considering models in bright, pastel colors that correspond well with this type of occasion. Creations in shades of light beige, delicate pink and violet, but also slightly peach will be perfect. Many women choose timeless white, but it seems to be a less popular solution. In turn, when it comes to the cut, it can be seen that there are two types of cocktail dresses for Communion: classic pencil dresses (so-called tubes) and those cut at the waist with a slightly flared bottom. Why these? This is directly related to the figure of the ladies who wear them. Slim dresses are usually chosen by tall and slim ladies who can emphasize their strengths thanks to such an outfit. On the other hand, ladies with slightly wider hips or those who do not like tight-fitting creations decide on flared dresseswhich not only mask prominent hips, but also give a lot of freedom of movement, which can be extremely important during a party that lasts for many hours.
