The 14th pension was to be a one-time cash support for seniors paid in 2021. Due to high inflation, it was renewed also a year later. What’s more, then the PiS president announced that it would most likely become a permanent, annual benefit. Work on the project is still ongoing. Will payouts be delayed?
The first declarations of family minister Marlena Maląg said that we would get to know the project on fourteens at the beginning of this year. Later it was moved to the end of March. Despite assurances, work on it is still in progress and details are not known. For this reason, it is possible that this year’s payouts will be delayed. The money was supposed to go to seniors at the turn of August and September, but there may be problems with meeting the deadline due to the government’s delay in accepting the project. On April 7, the deputy family minister, Stanisław Szwed, argued that the Sejm might deal with it already at its May session.
When is the 14th pension 2023? The date is still uncertain
According to “”, even if this happens, the bill must go from the Sejm to the Senate and the Upper House, and in the event of amendments, it will return to the Senate again. All this means that the president will most likely sign it only in July. This means that they and KRUS will have very little time to prepare payments. The portal points out, however, that the act alone is not enough, as a regulation is still needed for payments. Here, however, the government found a solution, because it can decide on the amount of the “fourteen” and indicate the date of its payment.
How much will the 14th pension be? Estimated calculations
Currently, it is only known that the maximum amount of this year’s “fourteen” will be as much as the minimum, i.e. PLN 1588.44 gross. However, not everyone will receive the full amount. For those whose benefits exceed PLN 2,900 gross, it will be reduced according to the “one zloty for one zloty” principle. What are the payouts likely to look like? According to the calculations of Fakt, seniors who receive a pension of PLN 1,000 gross can count on an additional transfer of PLN 1,444.48 net. What does it look like in other cases?
