The family of paco de lucia recovers the integrity of the copyright of 37 works by the musician. In a judgment of the Mercantile Court number 3 of Madrid to which laSexta has had access, they rule that the composer Jose Torregrosauntil now co-author of these songs, “violated the author’s moral right” of Paco de Lucía when attributing co-authorship of the previous works, condemning him to pay €10,000 as compensation for moral damage.
In addition, the ruling prohibits the family of the composer, who died in 2005, from mentioning himself as co-author of the works, as well as the exploitation that could be carried out of them.
This ruling also requires repay the amounts you have received “by virtue of the exploitation of the aforementioned musical works”, and said amount must be set according to the certification provided by the General Society of Authors and Publishers (SGAE).
Finally, the records of the SGAE with José Torregrosa as co-author of the works they will be nulland must be modified “in the sense established in the sentence”.
Among the pieces included in the sentence are ‘Between two waters‘, ‘Río Ancho’ or ‘Cueva del gato’, being also ‘Canastera’, ‘Plazuela’, ‘En la caleta’, ‘Punta Umbría’, ‘Llanto a Cádiz’, ‘Jerezana’ or ‘Plaza de San Juan’ .
