It was impossible to deny her beauty, which is why she was an extremely attractive choice to hit the covers of magazines. She appeared on the first of them when she was only 16 (“Woman and Life from 1957), and then – for “Express Wieczorny”. There is an interesting story associated with the photo in which she was styled as Audrey Hepburn – the photographer spotted her when she won the title of Miss Stodoła, which had nothing to do with rural entertainment, but with student entertainment. school, although some liked to gossip that it was a matter of photos from “Women and Life”.

She ended up on the cover of “Film”. In many cases, this achievement was attributed causative power – for a long time it was wrongly speculated that Barbara Kwiatkowska-Lass, thanks to a competition organized by the magazine, got a job in the cult film “Ewa Wants to Spać”. While it was a rumor, in the case of Tuszyńska the cover actually worked in her favor, but it did not help her career. After winning the competition in “Przekrój”, she was supposed to go to “The Last Shot” by Jan Rybkowski after a shortened casting, but she was unable to withstand even the slightest remarks of the director. She returned from the film set to the capital, despite the signed contract. Only Zbigniew Cybulski tamed her and persuaded her to play his partner in “Goodbye, Until Tomorrow” from 1960. This is how the plot is described by the actress herself.

She ended her career after the drama “Who believes in storks?” from 1970.

Forgotten in vodka fumes

Even earlier, she broke up with modeling (she collaborated, among others, with “Moda Polska”), or rather – modeling broke up with her. All because of the progressive addiction to alcohol, which began in the 1950s.

The sense of defeat began to be drowned out by alcohol. She was failing at work more and more often, at eight or ten o’clock, when filming began, often just sobering up, and then, it happened, she disappeared from the set suddenly and without warning.

Barely conscious from vodka, she heard a sentence – a year of probation. Later, she drank not only with artists, but with whoever happened to be. She died almost completely forgotten in 1997.
