The producer from Bilbao Iván Miñambres (Uniko) tells us about his experience presenting the film “Unicorn Wars”, in which EITB participates, at the Niigata International Animation Festival.
He Niigata International Animation Festival has been born to become one of the most outstanding events in the animation sector at an international level. The city is one of the cities with the most animation productions, schools and professionals in the world.
The city of Niigata, in Japan, became the epicenter of world animation for five days with the screening of several animated feature films from different countries, among which such relevant works as “Le Petit Nicolas”, “Vampire in the Garden” or “Oink”.

The film premiered in Japan at the festival. “Unicorn Wars”, a Basque production that has generated a lot of expectations among lovers of the genre. The film, directed by Alberto Vázquez and produced by the Bilbao production company UniKo together with Abano Producións and Autour de Minuit, tells the story of the ancient war between the bear army and the unicorns in a magical anti-war fable.
