We use them for cakes, salads, add them to soups, make pastes out of them, and finally serve them with mayonnaise. It is hard to imagine a traditional Easter table without eggs. How not to spend a fortune on eggs?

Katarzyna Bosacka – an expert on a healthy diet and rational shopping (she runs the program “I know what I eat and I know what I buy”) decided to share with Internet users her way to save a bit on eggs during Christmas cooking and baking. :

Eggs in the store can cost well over a zloty apiece, and the holidays are ahead of us, so a lot of expenses. How to save on eggs? I can say what I do in my house.

Bosacka admits that she buys two types of eggs:

If I bake pâté or cheesecakes or mazurkas, then I use eggs. They are a bit cheaper. But when I cook hard-boiled eggs for my family, I use free-range eggs.

The journalist also advises that if we do not have space in the fridge before Christmas, eggs can be stored outside it for a few days, but you must be aware that in such conditions they deteriorate faster.

Not everyone likes this way

Many netizens commented on the published video. Some criticized the journalist for buying barn eggs:

The differentiation of free-range or barn eggs is mainly about the conditions in which the animals live, not only about the price! Let’s eat less and not buy cheaper food that is not only qualitatively but also ethically inferior.

Why do you choose free-range hard-boiled meals for your family table, as if their taste values mattered then? After all, they taste exactly the same as from barn farming. It’s all about the conditions of the chickens, not the taste. Choose free-range ones whenever possible
