Mark MacDonald’s birth mother was 16 when she gave birth to him. The woman was unable to raise the child, so she decided to give him up for adoption. After 30 years, the man applied to find his mother. The procedures took a long time, but we managed to trace the woman. She wanted to meet Mark. By the way, MacDonald learned that she was involved with his biological father and they have three more.

Mark began exchanging messages regularly with his sister, Rachel Elliott. The woman immediately fell in love with her older brother. When her mother showed her Mark’s picture and gave her his email address, Rachel didn’t hesitate for a second. I ran home, opened my laptop and poured myself a glass of wine. I drank, wrote an e-mail, deleted it and poured another glass of wine – MacDonald’s sister. Mark confirms that their relationship was very intense from the very beginning. “I was acting like a teenager who obsessively checks email and waits for a reply,” he says. After 7 weeks of writing with Rachel, Mark decided to meet his birth family.

MacDonald first met his in 2007. Mark was dreading this meeting because, after all, they were still strangers to him. However, it turned out that it was not necessary. – I’ve never felt so comfortable. We talked as if we’d known each other all our lives – man. Two months later, Rachel came to visit him and his wife Tina. She knew the couple couldn’t have children. So she offered to become their surrogate. Mark and Tina immediately agreed. “We knew Rachel was the perfect surrogate candidate,” says MacDonald. On August 19, 2008, twin daughters Alaska Rachel and Zoe Rachel were born.

Today the girls are 15 years old. Mark and Rachel published a book called “Love and Genetics” in which they described their story. It premiered on March 22. After reading it, people were impressed by Rachel’s attitude. However, she points out that she has gained so much more. “I have a brother,” the woman concludes.
