For the first and only time two emblematic orchestras from Guayaquil will unite to thrill the audience immediately recital that will showcase the strengths and talent of both musical ensembles under the direction of the teacher David Harutyunyan.

The concert takes place in the main hall of the Sánchez Aguilar Theater on Friday, April 21 from 8 p.m. (presentation only) and interested parties reserve your ticket for free to attend.

That evening they will take the stage more of 100 musicians to celebrate classical music big with a repertoire consisting of pieces by classic and contemporary authors. In addition to the special participation of Spanish-Cuban pianist Jorge Luis Prats, who will play Richard Wagner and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

“It was the idea of ​​Ramón Barranco (cultural director of the Sánchez Aguilar Theater), he spoke first to the Guayaquil Symphony Orchestra and then to me and he suggested me to direct this concert”, recalled Harutyunyan, who directed the symphony until 2016, in an interview with this newspaper. “Honestly, I kept thinking about it because they are two completely different concepts, orchestras have two different aesthetics (…) I thought of How will my ex-colleagues receive me, will they accept this commitment? is it worth it or is it not worth it? But I’ve decided it’s worth it, so let’s do it”.

Harutyunyan, the current director of the Guayaquil Municipal Philharmonic Orchestra, It also highlights the joint effort of various local institutions and managers who make this concert possible and the foreign musician, among others the Humboldt German School of Samborondón, Ramón Sonnenholzner, the Municipality of Guayaquil, the Government of Ecuador and the Sánchez Aguilar Theater. “We are several players. Everything comes together and we will present ourselves on April 21,” he emphasizes.
