The decade of the 80s has passed when the American television series “Dynasty” or “Dinastia”, in Spanish, monopolized the audience. It was one of the most famous of its time, and was broadcast on ABC between 1981 and 1989.

Four decades have passed since the premiere of the first of 220 episodes, so today we remind you what happened to its protagonists and part of the cast of the plot in which two millionaire families immersed in the world of oil, the Carringtons and the Colbys, were opposite each other, the entertainment portal MDZ reminds.

The classic series ‘Dynasty’ returns to TV with an update

“Dynasty” had actors as protagonists john forsythe in the role of Blake Carrington and Linda Evans as Krystle Grant Jennings Carrington. The name of Pamela Bellwood appeared in antagonistic roles in the first season and John Collins beginning with the second in 1982. Both starred Alexis Morell Carrington.

His first seasons did not have much significance, but from 1985 when he became a television phenomenon to the point of winning a Golden Globe.

What happened to the protagonists of “Dynasty”?

After the last broadcast in 1989, several actors of “Dynasty” continued their careers in the world of television, while others decided to continue their lives away from the cameras and the spotlight.

John Forsythe (Blake Carrington)

The American actor, known for his role as billionaire tycoon Blake Carrington, died in 2010 at the age of 92 after a battle with cancer. His career began in the 1940s and he added several films to his career.

He also became famous for providing the voice of Charlie in the production Charlie’s Angels (1976-1981), although he never appeared on screen.

Linda Evans (Krystle Carrington)

Dynasty opened doors for him in the world of acting, although later his life was surrounded by scandals until he decided to leave everything behind in 1997 and take refuge on his estate in Washington state, as mentioned by Mujer Hoy. She was Blake’s ex-secretary and new wife in the series.

In 2020, he returned to acting in the independent film “El canto del swan” which was released in 2021. He is currently 80 years old.

Joan Collins (Alexis Colby)

Joan Collins is a British actress and writer who has added more than 60 films and at least 15 theater plays to her career, although she became world famous for her role as the villain in “Dynasty” as Alexis Colby, which earned her a Golden Globe Award.

The actress, who is currently 70 years old, became famous for the role of the teenage detective Nancy Drew, and later for the portrait member of the High Society Fallon Carrington Colby in “Dynasty”.
