In the 1970s, Leszek Teleszyński was a real idol. He was loved by fans, but also by his friends from college. He inflamed the hearts of women regardless of age, he was willingly cast in the roles of aristocrats or lovers. His last major role was as Senator Kowalski. He played in the series “Z³otopolscy” for 13 years, but after the end of the broadcast, Teleszyński’s career died down. He disappeared into the shadows some time ago.

His classmates and professors loved him. He made his debut with Andrzej Żuławski
Already in college, he enjoyed great success. – Leszek, who was the youngest in our year, was loved not only by all friends, but also by most female professors – years later, his colleague from the university, Henryk Talar, in an interview with the “Tele” magazine. He graduated from the theater school in 1969 and started working with the Ludowy Theater in Krakow.
It was there that he was noticed by Teleszyński who cast him in his debut film, “The Third Part of the Night”. A year later, he again played with Żuławski, this time in the film “The Devil”. Both roles were not easy, as he mentioned many times in later years. Preparing for the role in “The Third Part of the Night”, 24-year-old Teleszyński fed lice in an infectious hospital, before shooting “The Devil”, he moved to a psychiatric hospital in Tworki.

It was his role in “The Deluge” that gave him fame. – Theoretically, Bogusław was terrible… He was a traitor to the nation, but a nice bastard – Teleszyński. The actor did well in the roles of aristocrats. So good that Hoffman also decided to cast him in the role of Michorowski’s ordinate in the film Leper. Almost immediately he became the object of sighs among women. The screen adaptation of Helena Mniszkówna’s novel attracted crowds to cinemas, although there was no shortage of negative opinions from critics.
He was Senator Kowalski in the series “Złotopolscy” and “Polish James Bond”. How is he?
After “Trędowata” he played the “Polish James Bond”, i.e. the editor of Maj in the series “Życie na hot”. He also appeared in the first Polish telenovela “W labiryncie”, and from 1997 to 2010 he appeared as senator Jerzy Kowalski in the series “Złotopolscy”. It was Teleszyński’s last significant role. After the series aired after 13 years, his career died down a bit.
He continued to perform in the theater, but on the screens he appeared less and less. – I’m not complaining about it. I’m such a character that I won’t go and beg. I’m just waiting for the roles to come to me – on Polish Radio. In 2020, he decided to retire from acting and left the Polish Theater, with which he had worked for years. However, he still records audiobooks and his voice can be heard in the Polish Radio Theatre.
