An article published on the Polonia Christiana portal (pch24.pl) criticized the “quiet confession” introduced by some German parishes. As the author of the text pointed out, it is contrary to canon law. Father Rafał Główczyński, known in social media as “the priest from the estate”, joined the group of critics of this form of confession. – It is more about adapting the sacrament to people than persuading them to really face their weaknesses – he said in an interview with Onet.
Priest critical of confession “in mind”
The popular priest also recorded a short video on the subject, which he published on TikTok. – What do I think about confession in mind? he asked himself. – Well, it’s a bit like being sick, you don’t want to go to the doctor, just sit and think – said the priest on the recording. – In our normal confession, Jesus is present and through the priest he forgives us our sins, through the priest he blesses us, but he also tells us what to do to make things a little better in the end – he emphasized clearly.
