Before fans of The X-Files get excited about the iconic series’ eventual return, it would feature a new cast of actors and not necessarily original stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.
During an appearance Monday on CBC’s On The Coast, original series creator Chris Carter said that Creed director Ryan Coogler hoped to “remake” the sci-fi horror series through Bloody Disgusting. .
While Carter only briefly talked about the potential project, it could end up with a new, more iconic cast, minus the actors who played Fox Mulder (Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Anderson).
“I just spoke to a young man, Ryan Coogler, who is going to remake The X-Files with a diverse cast,” Carter said. He added that Coogler “has done his job for him, because we cover a large area”. Coogler is no stranger; he has already received four NAACP Image Awards, four Black Reel Awards, a Golden Globe nomination and two Academy Award nominations, he directed Black Panther and its sequel Wakanda forever, Creed, among others.

The original series starred Duchovny as FBI Agent Fox Mulder, while Anderson played his partner Dana Scully, a special agent who also trained as a physician.
The two were assigned to investigate secret “X-Files,” a group of unsolved cases with possible alien or supernatural explanations.
Mulder came across as the more curious of the two cops willing to take stock of outlandish conspiracy theories, while Scully was the rational realist who prevailed in her more extreme instincts, though they were often correct.
The hit series ran for nine seasons from 1993 to 2002, before being revived for two more seasons from 2016 to 2018.
Duchovny and Anderson also starred in two X-Files movies, released in 1998 and 2008.
