Jennifer Lopez cut open Jane Fonda’s eye with a huge ring. “She never apologized”

Jane Fonda told Drew Barrymore about the accident that happened in 2005 on the set of the movie “Spywice”. In one scene, Fonda and Jennifer Lopez had to slap each other, which ended in bloodshed and one of the stars had a cut eye. Now the actress laughs that she never received an apology from the culprit.

“The way to mother-in-law” is a romantic comedy in which the main character () has a hard nut to crack. She loves her fiancĂ©, he loves her unconditionally, but his mother () has strong objections to her. She wants to get rid of her son at all costs and make him return to his former girlfriend, who in her opinion is a better candidate for a wife. To do this, he decides to make the life of the young fiancĂ©e extremely difficult – and at the same time pretends to be innocent.

Jennifer Lopez must have punched Jane Fonda in the face and there was blood

Played by Jennifer Lopez, she obviously knows the intrigue and at some point there is a sharp confrontation. The scriptwriters wrote a scene in which the ladies slap each other’s faces. Jane Fonda talked about filming this sequence on the couch on The Drew Barrymore Show:

I slap her, she slap me. So Jennifer, being Jennifer, was wearing this giant diamond ring. So after one more hit, this ring cut my eye and eyebrow.

– You know she never apologized to me? She ended the story of that accident with a sneer.

Jennifer Lopez also talked about the incident in one of the interviews, however, she maintains that she apologized. – We talked about how to do it endlessly. I was so afraid of hitting Jane Fonda or hurting her somehow. And she was so jaded and said, Just hit me and don’t worry about it. I replied: No! I don’t want to hurt you! She told me: Just do it. So we’re shooting, and Jane’s really into it – she’s hit it real hard. All I remember is that she had a blood blister over her eye afterwards. I also hit my eyeball with my fingernail. I was terrified and screamed, “Oh god, I’m so sorry,” she recalled in 2019.

So it can be assumed that Jane Fonda was joking a bit in the latest program, or she forgot the singer’s terrified screams from the impression. And who said acting was an easy job?

How to Get a Mother-in-law was directed by Robert Luketic, and the production itself was the first film in which Jane Fonda starred after a 15-year break in her career. The cast also includes Michael Vartan, Wanda Sykes, Adam Scott, Monet Mazur, Annie Parisse, Will Arnett, Elaine Stritch and Stephen Dunham. The production budget was $43 million, and on IMDB you can read that the costs were more than paid off, because the production earned over $155 million worldwide.
