They were both amorous and sometimes played with women’s feelings. Irena Morcińczyk changed everything – one constantly cheated on her, and the other benefited from it. She left so that the other could sigh for Maryla Rodowicz. She never regretted the decision. She knew she had found the love of her life.
An extra strong competitor
1980 was a breakthrough year for Karol Strasburger. That’s when he met Irene. Continuing the acquaintance, in which a great feeling was born, was not even disturbed by the fact that she was already married, and by whose side she was staying. Her chosen one was Andrzej Jaroszewicz, called the Red Prince – the son of the then Prime Minister of the Polish People’s Republic, Piotr Jaroszewicz, who also served as the Minister of Mining and Major General of the Polish Army. His mother was associated with the People’s Army, but after her death, his father quickly became involved with Alicja Solska, a participant in the Warsaw Uprising. Young Jaroszewicz quickly left his family home and chose a different path than politics. Today he is best known as a rally driver, and in his time also as an “extra strong” playboy – he loved hard and fast. When he met Strasburger’s future wife, he was married twice himself. He explained the number of partners with care – he married them “out of respect” to show that he treats them seriously.
They both chose artists
The third wife, who was later taken away from him, he himself took away. Irena was then the partner of Andrzej Kenda. Jaroszewicz boldly approached the couple having fun at the dance, then told the Krakow artist that he fell in love with his girlfriend immediately and was going to propose to her. Only a few months later, she actually married him. She met Karol Strasburger in the 1970s at a car race in Sopot. Although she stayed by the racer’s side and her family ran a laundry chain, she was drawn to artists.
She studied economics and a bit of fashion. I was fascinated by her personality. And so a relationship was created, which is built on adult feelings, common interests and needs.
– this is how Strasburger recalled the period of his first fascinations and stalking. Jaroszewicz did not care too much about the actor’s competition. He cheated on Irena, and in the middle of the decade he lost his head for another – he met Maryla Rodowicz, who was then a star of the stage, associated with an equally recognizable man – Daniel Olbrychski. However, the feeling born between the popular singer and the communist’s son lasted only two weeks. Today, he just calls it “the episode.” As he said in an interview for “Vivy”, he left her because he had no idea to marry her.
Twice he healed a broken heart with new love
However, the feeling between Irena Morcińczyk and Karol Strasburger did not fade away. The woman mockingly called a “beautiful washerwoman” made him forget about his failed marriage with actress Barbara Burska and married her in 1981. They never had children, but they were considered the perfect couple anyway. They spent 32 years together. The idyll was interrupted by a diagnosis – Irena was diagnosed with leukemia, with which she lost the fight after two years.
A great void was left. Many things in my life have changed and many things have become bad and unhappy after Irena’s death.
