Bogusz Bilewski was born on September 25, 1930 in Starachowice. His parents wanted him to become an engineer or a singer. However, he chose an acting career. At the film school he studied for one year with Zbigniew Cybulski. After graduation, he played on the boards of Warsaw and Krakow theaters. He made his debut in the film “Hours of Hope” in 1955 and quickly became one of the most sought-after actors. Handsome and charismatic, he often played the role of lovers. Like Witold Sadowy, Bilewski as Romeo “enchanted the audience and critics with the truth of his inner experience and beautiful, noble beauty”. After a few years, he gained weight, a thick beard appeared on his face. It was then that he began playing robbers, pirates and thugs.

He was perfect for the role of Waluś Kwiczoła from the TV series “”. And he was preparing for the role for a long time. In order to master the Podhale dialect, he spent a lot of time in inns in Zakopane. – Boguś was a favorite ceper. Highlanders bowed to him at the waist in every pub in Zakopane – years later . Bilewski repaid the highlanders for the lessons with food and alcohol. It paid off, although the costs of this study were high. It was said that he blew several salaries in Podhale bars, and when he ran out of cash, he even drank his Trabant.

When Bilewski gained weight and grew a beard, he became the chief highwayman in Polish cinema. So he played Kwiczoł in “” or Kulwiec-Hippocentaurus in “The Deluge”. On the set of the latter production, he also had adventures in bars. “One night, there’s a knock on the door. Bilewski is standing there covered in blood. He drank in a pub, and two tables away Czech airmen and Soviet ones were feasting. Bogusz came up and said: You fucking Czechs – Jerzy Hoffman in an interview with the weekly “Naj”. The situation ended in a fist fight. These were not rare situations. Scream was not just an acting game. It turned out that one of the stuntmen twisted Bilewski’s leg so much that an operation was necessary.
Bilewski’s intense lifestyle and never shunning a glass of wine seriously affected his health. The actor died on September 14, 1995, a few days before his 65th birthday.
