Loja is ready for the VI edition of the Living Arts Festival

There were several delegations from dance schools in the province that danced various rhythms, representing various South American cultures.

In the afternoon and at the Bolívar theater, the first play of this festival was presented, Angelfish my love – Troca y Truco, an interdisciplinary choreographic proposal that intertwines contemporary dance, theater, literature, dramaturgy, musical composition, collage and design. Inspired by the story of the Ecuadorian writer Javier Vasconez this becomes the starting point for the vindication of literature from the scene. Based on this momentous story, the work raises discussions and reflections on homosexuality, love, passion, resentment, and exercises of power over the various corporalities and sexualities. It was an event that expected around 250 people, but the organizers estimated that there was a capacity of just over 100 attendees.

The opening of this edition is scheduled for 19:00 today at the Benjamín Carrión National Theater, with the presence of some ministers of state. Then it will proceed with the presentation of the French comedy Raoul’s portrait, an intimate piece in which the actor exposes himself and opens the channel in search of an inner peace that turns off and clears all his doubts about his gender.

In the morning, the tedeum mass was held for the celebrations for the 201 years of independence, in which only local authorities were present.

The Minister of Culture, Maria Elena Machuca, took advantage of the morning hours to walk the streets that will be closed for the realization of various cultural events and that will be carried out by the citizens themselves. (I)
