Local radio reported that both men had gone missing in Arkansas. The trip was supposed to be a form of active recreation after the intensive concert tour of the Lotus group in the United States.
According to NME, on the first night after Morris’s wife reported her loved ones missing, the canoe in which the men were sailing was found. The following days brought more ominous clues about their condition – the artist’s hat and coat were fished out of the water.
The tragic finale of a kayaking trip in Arkansas
About a week after the men went missing, the Lotus group informed fans that the search status had been changed to Chuck Morris and his son drowned.
We were all hoping for a miracle, but at this point, the search for Chuck and Charley was resumed just for the bodies. With the help of the K9 team, a likely location where they might be has been determined, but getting there is logistically difficult due to temperature, weather and depth, the team said.
A fundraiser for Chuck and Charley’s family has been created online. More than 2,500 donors have already donated, raising nearly $160,000. The goal of the collection was the amount lower by almost 10,000.
