The house belonged to the Lincoln County Hospital & Healthcare Foundation, who wanted to get rid of it and put up an advertisement to give it away for free. However, there were certain conditions: the new owner was to move him to another plot, but he could not take him outside the city limits, and he was to live in the house in order to become a member of the local community. Julie and Eddie Flores became the owners of a 113-year-old house, although they did not pay a dime for it.
