The man was a co-founder of one of the most popular bands playing electronic music from Russia – Cream Soda. The formation was founded in 2012 and has released four studio albums. However, the band became very famous only in 2021, when Russian comedian Aleksandr Gudkov used the band’s song as a background for a music video in which he criticizes Vladimir Putin, who built a villa called “Putin’s Palace” for $3.1 billion.
This inspired the band to create the song “Aqua Disco”, which is a reference to rumors that there is a water disco in the “Palace”. After Russia attacked Ukraine, this song was hailed as the unofficial anthem of anti-war protests.

A Russian musician drowned in the Volga
According to an independent Russian portal, Dmitry Svirgunov went out with his younger brother Roman and three friends for a walk on the frozen Volga River in the village of Dievo Gorodishche. During their journey, the ice broke under their weight, and the three of them were swept away by a strong current.
Two men managed to pull themselves out of the water, but one of them died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. However, Svirgunov’s body was found later. Only the next day at 9:00 am, the identity of the musician was confirmed by the family.
The members of the Cream Soda band in a statement on Instagram wrote:
We had a tragedy yesterday. Our dear Dima Nova stepped on the frozen Volga and fell under the ice. (…) Dima and Goshi left
Some fans of the team write comments that Dima Nova predicted his fate. All because of the song “Wołga”, released in 2017, the text of which tells about death in the waters of this river.
