Euskaraz irakurri: Julen Apella Santamariak irabazi du Donostia Kultura poetry lehiaketa
The writer Julen Apella Santamaria (Berriz, 1998) has been awarded the Donostia Kultura poetry prize for his work bat desertuan postcard. He is a graduate in Basque Studies from the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU), and also has a Master’s Degree in Comparative Literature and Literary Studies from the same university. He currently works as a Basque teacher. In the field of literature, this is his first work.
According to the jury, “behind the book there is a young and robust voice that shows multiple references and influences. It skilfully combines metaliterature and social criticism, working on language and using suggestive images, opening paths to reflection. It is also raised as a voice of a generation, but the claim and the attitude of looking at the world critically are treated with lyricism. In many poems the everyday and the landscape come together, and take advantage of some elements that give fullness to the book: shoes, feet, path, wings, movement , time, clocks.”
The publishing house Balea Zuria will publish the book.
