Katarzyna Dowbor has been running the “Our New Home” program for years. One of the most characteristic lines that the journalist utters is “we will renovate your house”. Only once in the history of the entire television show Dowbor did not say that. She had a good reason for it.
Katarzyna Dowbor refused to renovate the house
The whole situation took place some time ago, in one of the archival episodes. The hero of the program was Mr. Grzegorz. His wife died of lung cancer and from that moment the man raised his son Kuba alone.
Mr. Grzegorz lost most of his sources of income, and meanwhile the old wooden house in which they lived required more and more outlays every year. Minor repairs that Mr. Grzegorz was able to do himself were no longer enough. Finally, it came to a situation where the condition of the building threatened the lives of the household and the whole family had to move out.

Katarzyna Dowbor stated that no one should live in such conditions and did not agree to renovate the current apartment. However, she did not want to leave her family in the cold and came up with another idea.
Katarzyna Dowbor renovated a shed instead of a house
The journalist came up with a brilliant, if unexpected, idea. Next to the house, she spotted a shed that she thought would be perfect for a new home. At the very beginning, Katarzyna Dowbor’s team was terrified, but eventually they rose to the occasion and did something extraordinary. The barn became a house of flesh and blood.
Mr. Gregory cried with joy
After entering the new house, Mr. Grzegorz simply burst into tears. Of course, they were tears of happiness. The vestibule of the apartment used to be a simple shed, and now it has a beautiful entrance door, panels imitating wood and places to hang jackets.

The house also has a spacious kitchen with a fireplace. In addition, Mr. Grzegorz got his own bedroom, decorated very climatically. And his son Kuba, after entering his bedroom, said: – “Beautiful! I will study a lot, because there is a desk and I can put all my crayons there.”
