Charity met Matt when they were still teenagers. They married in 2004 and now have four children together. In an interview with The Sun, she admitted that when she found out in 2012 that her husband had cheated on her with a colleague from work, she was devastated. She had a feeling something was wrong and grabbed the man’s phone. There, she discovered intimate messages he exchanged with another woman. When the truth came out, he sincerely regretted what he had done.
“It’s the best thing that happened to us”
Matt immediately quit his job and changed his phone number. He wanted to show his wife that family is the most important thing for him and he will fight for it. Charity didn’t know what to do at first. She could not immediately forgive her husband. They made the decision to separate. Matt later explained:
It was a stressful time when I was spending 60 hours a week at work. I spent more time there than with my family.
After some time, however, they returned to each other. They both worked on themselves and today they know that the difficult experience only strengthened their relationship. Charity realized she wasn’t quite right herself.
I didn’t know how unhappy I was. While I didn’t seem to have a problem with anger, I used it as a form of control and manipulation
– she said.
This experience destroyed everything, but we were in a very toxic and unhappy place in life at the time. It is known that you cannot throw a grenade into a house and come out of it undamaged. But I do know that now we are happier than ever
– she emphasized in an interview with the portal.
