Manuel Medrano will visit Manta for the first time; In conversation with this newspaper, the singer from Cartagena tells what his fans can expect on that date:

In Ecuador you have an audience that loves you very much, what do you cherish most about your visits to the country?

Ecuador has always been a brother country with Colombia we’ve always felt very close adding that it’s a country that opened the doors to my music practically from the beginning to me it almost feels like a home in fact like a family .

Ecuador has always shown a lot of love for my songs, a lot of connection with my music, which remains extremely special, magical for me. I still can’t understand how people connect with your emotions, your music, something so intimate that you do from your guitar, from your home and then cross borders and feel that vibe from Ecuador to your heart is impressive.

I am very happy to return to Ecuador and now to a new city like Manta which I have heard a lot about it is a beautiful city even though I have never been there before so I am very excited about this opportunity to be in concert in Manta.

What’s the first thing you want to do when you arrive?

Just peeking along the beach, as I was very well told about the beaches of Manta, Caribbean food hahaha from the sea, and connecting with people, enjoy the festival. It really is very little that you become when you go to sing in a city, but it is certainly a lot that you take with you.

What fascinates you most about participating in the festival?

I’m really excited to sing, that there are more Colombian artists, so that makes me super happy too. Having the chance to see them because since everyone is always on tour everywhere we never see each other hahaha so it’s cool to see my friends, my colleagues at the same festival making music is too exciting.

Are you using this visit to Ecuador to visit your family in Colombia?

Right now I’m outside of Los Angeles recording my third album coming out soon, so we’ve been recording in New York, Mexico, Miami and now Los Angeles. Yes, I manage to go through Colombia in the next few weeks, suddenly and hopefully see my family and from there we go to Ecuador to the festival. It has honestly been a super busy and very exciting year and how nice to definitely start the year with playing at this festival.

What sounds will we hear on his new album?

It’s definitely a bet on pop, when I wanted to bring this project to life I also wanted to give life to a genre of music called molten pop, so I think I’m going to take it to the highest level with this album.

Can we hear these songs at the festival?

Not yet because the album comes out later, but a little over a year ago we released my second album, Eternalliving and qua show complements my first album very well because it has a lot stone, different musicalities and genres.

So yeah, let’s hear it show very powerful, with a lot of energy because we are going to play my two albums: Manuel Medrano (2015) and Eternal (2021). I think they complement each other very cool, I hope people can benefit from this show. I will sing the classics of those who will always remain in my heart, I hope I can always sing them.

So, would you say your sounds have evolved?

Instead of evolving, each of my albums has a different concept and also a unique concept, so none compete with the other. Let’s say one album is not on a higher level than the other. I create unique and artistic pieces, I don’t think they can be replaced by another, not even by myself. Each of my albums has its own identity, its own character, they are unique and irreplaceable.
