We talked, among others about actresses and actresses who prove that with talent and consistency and a bit of luck, success can come at any age.
“If I had known that Łukasz Kośmicki wanted to direct ‘Emigracja XD’ before filming started, I would have made a courtesy appeal to him by quoting a vulgar but often repeated phrase in such circumstances: ‘Don’t screw it up.’ In fact, his contribution served the whole thing twice, if not triple, because he insisted that the series be shot and he also worked with Malcolm XD on the script, which, in my humble opinion, turned out very well for them, writes Justyna Bryczkowska after watching the first five episodes . It will certainly be worth taking a look at the premiere of CANAL+.
If not “Emigration”, then what? Other premieres
From Thursday morning, episodes of the second season of the series “Shadow and Bone” are available on Netflix. The first season was surprisingly successful. Fans of books whose action takes place in the Grisha universe modeled on Tsarist Russia waited for him impatiently, and those who did not know them, rather with indifference. Meanwhile, it turned out that even those viewers who usually don’t read young adult fantasy novels often enjoyed the production. Within 28 days of the premiere of the first series, it was watched in 55 million households worldwide. It will be interesting to see how they evaluate the next eight episodes.
Disney+’s The Boston Strangler is a crime thriller directed by award-winning director Matt Ruskin. This is the true story of pioneering female reporters who brought the shocking crimes of a serial killer to the fore in the 1960s. Record American journalist Loretta McLaughlin is the first to uncover the connection between the killings. The role is played by Keira Knightley, and the cast includes, among others, Carrie Coon, Alessandro Nivola, and David Dastmalchian.
The director of “Wyrwy” is the Oscar-nominated creator of the series “In the depths of the forest” and “Skazana” Bartosz Konopka. The plot concept is the responsibility of Marcin Cieszeń, the author of the award-winning film “Hyacinth”. Tomasz Kot, who plays one of the main roles, says:
In “Wyrwa” all the elements characteristic of a thriller are preserved: mystery, its discovery, atmospheric cinematography, which is taken care of by our cameraman, Piotr Niemyski. But there is also a Coen flair that I am most curious about. The characters, exposed to extreme experiences, get themselves into comical situations that allow them to relieve the tension.
Katarzyna Butowtt, on the other hand, talks about her adventure in “Salty Lake”:
I wasn’t waiting for any acting offers. When the casting director called and said that Kasia Rosłaniec was offering me the lead role in her new film, I thought it was a joke. I explained to him that I am not an actress. I heard that it’s not a problem because the director wants me. As it turned out, Kasia was looking for the most natural, mature woman and found that I fit the role perfectly.
Butowtt has been walking on Polish and world catwalks for over three decades, and has also appeared in many commercials. At the time of her greatest popularity, she starred in several films – m.in. “Dogs” and “Agata’s Abduction”. Later, she retired from show business and focused on charity at the Dr Clown Foundation.
