The decision that affected social networks is that of Joana Sanz, the wife of Dani Alves, who announced her separation from the footballer with a handwritten letter that she published on Instagram.

After months of unconditional support, the model revealed the reasons that led her to choose a breakup: I love myself, I respect myself and I value myself very much, she wrote.

Let us remind you that Dani Alves is in prison accused of raping a young woman in the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona.

In February, Joana expressed her support for the athlete, demanded privacy in the situation she is in, and confirmed on social networks and in front of the cameras that she is not separating from Alves.

Because of this, the model’s decision, although very personal, shocked the public. Perhaps, fed up with explaining and denying rumours, she decided to establish her very special position once and for all.

Joana Sanz’s letter explaining why she is parting ways with Dani Alves

“Since I was a child, I have been writing my feelings to express myself, I guess because I am an only child. Whatever it is, it makes me feel good,” Sanz writes in the first lines of the letter he wrote on the notebook pages.

“They were terrible months, not the hardest of my life, because I faced many storms, but very dark and painful. I chose as my life partner a person who was perfect in my eyes. He was always there when I needed him the most and always supported me in everything,” he continued.

Joana admits that it was difficult for her to accept that “this person can break me into a thousand pieces”. Her husband was arrested on January 20 when he returned to Spain for his mother-in-law’s funeral.

“Despite the damage he’s done to me, I’m still here for him. I continue and will be, but in a different way. I love him and I will always love him, whoever says that love is forgotten is wrong or didn’t really love. But I love myself, I respect myself and I value myself very much.

Currently, Alves remains in custody awaiting trial. The investigation is ongoing and all necessary measures have been taken.

The different versions that he presented to the former football player in front of the judge and the firm stance of the victim, who at no point doubted what happened, do not help his defense.
