According to the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, dermal fillers are “gel-like substances” injected under the skin to add volume and smooth wrinkles. They can also emphasize the contours of the face. Since fillers add volume, instead of inhibiting muscle movement as with botox, they can migrate or move to unintended parts of the face. Cox confessed that her filler had “drifted” to other areas, contributing to the crooked appearance. More and more stars, including Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz, speak out against the pursuit of youth with Botox and fillers. Courteney Cox years later in 2017 decided to get rid of fillers and come to terms with the passage of time. She also wanted to post her before and after photos, one with full filler and one after it was removed, but ultimately failed to do so.
