The new movie of Superman already has a director, James Gunn, who brought Marvel Studios’ then-unknown “Guardians of the Galaxy” to the screen is now given command of the new Man of Steel tape.

Not only will Gunn direct the project, he’s also in charge of the script. In late January, the president and CEO of DC Studios made the unveiling of the new projects that DC Studios will launch after restructuring its cinematographic universe. However, no further details about the productions have been given.

The filmmaker has used his social networks to reveal that he will command ‘Superman: Legacy’whose release date is Gunn’s father’s birthday.

“Yes, I will be directing Superman: Legacy, which will be released on July 11, 2025. My brother Matt told me he cried when he saw the release date. I asked him why. He said: “Brother, it’s dad’s birthday.” I hadn’t realized it,” Gunn wrote.I lost my father almost three years ago. He was my best friend. He didn’t understand me as a kid, but he supported my love of comics and my love of movies and now I wouldn’t make this movie without him.”

Gunn continued his tweet by saying, “It’s been a long road so far. Years ago I was offered Superman. I initially said no because I didn’t have a way that felt unique, fun, and emotional that would give Superman the dignity he deserved. Then, just under a year ago, I saw an entry, centered in many ways on Superman’s heritage: how both his aristocratic Kryptonian parents and his Kansas farmer parents tell who he is and the choices he makes.”

‘Superman: Legacy’ will be the first movie in this new DC Comics universe in the cinema, and this time the main character will not be Henry Cavill. This film will portray a younger Clark Kent balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing.
