Even before her appearance on TV, thanks to covers published on the network, Grimmie gained over two million subscribers to her channel. When at blind auditions in “The Voice” she started singing Miley Cyrus’ hit “Wrecking Ball”, after a dozen or so seconds Shakira and Usher turned around. Before the song ended, they were joined by the other two coaches: Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. Christina Grimmie joined Adam Levine’s team and many people predicted her long adventure with “The Voice”. They were not mistaken – in the final she took third place.

She gave concerts, prepared to release an album, played in the movie “The Matchbreaker”. In February 2016, she released a four-song EP to herald a full-length album scheduled for release at the end of the year. Unfortunately, on June 10, 2016, while signing autographs after a concert in Orlando, Florida, the singer was shot three times by 27-year-old psychofan Kevin James Loibla. We met her when she was 14 – my parents and I signed a contract with her, and one of the characteristics of Christina and her family is that they stick so much to their faith. Gomez canceled a fan meeting scheduled after the show that evening. Soon after, she stopped touring and checked herself into a rehab facility.
