Zofia Czerwińska’s grave has changed beyond recognition. They added a photo, but the caption says it all

Zofia Czerwiñska played the legendary role of her namesake in the series “Czterdziestolatek” and Mrs. Balcerkowa in “Alternatywy 4”. On March 19, 2023, she would have celebrated her 90th birthday.

Zofia Czerwińska died on March 13 in Warsaw after a serious spinal surgery. She was buried at the Północny municipal cemetery in the capital, where a group of relatives and friends from the industry said goodbye to her during the funeral ceremony.

4 years since the death of Zofia Czerwińska. The tombstone of the actress has been changed

In November 2022, the actress’ friend, journalist Mariusz Szczygie³ published a photo of the artist on his Instagram. He emphasized that Czerwińska liked the photograph from the 1970s so much that she hung it above her bed. The relatives of the actress wanted the photo to be close to her even after her death.

Zosia Czerwińska liked her photo from the 70s very much and even hung it above the bed. Together with her family, we want to place them on a new tombstone, wrote Szczygieł.

In addition, the actress’s relatives came up with the idea that there would be an adequate inscription under the photograph. Szczygieł even asked his followers which of the artist’s quotes would be the most appropriate – the one with “”: “Maybe tea, Mr. Engineers?” – or maybe her famous saying: “The best place for a tent is always a little further away.”

“We would like to put an inscription under this large photo on the monument. Therefore, I have a question for the Honorable Audience, because I am torn. Should it be a sentence from “Czterdziestolatka”, which immediately identifies Zosia in the head of a cemetery passer-by? When she asks engineer Karwowski about tea on this grave, it is as if she was still playing after her death. Is the sentence about the tent that shows Zosia from a less known side, but the text is hers and shows what distance she had to life?” ‘ thought Szczygiel.

Four years after Czerwińska’s death, the grave of the actress was modified. The artist was initially buried in a family grave, now her burial place has been personalized. As we read on se.pl, terrazzo replaced marble, and on the slab there is a candle in the actress’ favorite color – pink.

Most importantly, the plans of the actress’s relatives were put into practice. Czerwińska’s favorite photo and a quote appeared on the tombstone “The best place for a tent is always a little further away”which perfectly reflects her personality.
