Exhibition at the Municipal Museum of Guayaquil

From July 5 to 15, the Municipal Museum of Guayaquil will host an exhibition with the pieces of the previous editions of the annual painting contest called Salón de Julio. The renowned contest was on pause for the last two years due to the coronavirus pandemic. Among the winners of past editions are Diana Gardeneira, with Shit, accept my compliment (2019); Jose Antonio Pinto, with theories (2018); Javier Gavilanes, with Crisscross Perceptions (2017); and Jorge Morocho, who won two years in a row with Karla, Otis III and Dexter Redding (2016) and Chet B’s teeth (2015). The calls for the July Hall were open until June 30. You can visit the exhibition from 10:00 to 17:00.

Collective critical mapping in the center of Guayaquil

The seventh edition of the Ibero-American Meeting on Art, Work and Economy (EIATE), co-produced with the University of the Arts (through the Center for Innovation and Production MZ14 and the Institute for Research in the Arts), will hold the event Collective Critical Mapping, an exercise that seeks to understand the impact of the UARTES on how it perceives and inhabits the center of Guayaquil. The event starts with the workshop Working with the timeline (11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.). All the activities that follow include this, they are open to the public. From July 5 to 22, from 09:00 to 19:00, in the CIF Gallery of the MZ14 building (October 9 and Panama, corner).
