How to deal with the annoying problem of food moths?

They are hard to notice at first. Seemingly fresh products do not seem infected. Once the moles reach their adult form, we have no doubt what has attacked our food. In the form of larvae, we can see them as small spider webs. It is worth taking a special look at dry products. However, if we fail to prevent the purchase of spoiled products, we can get rid of adult individuals using proven home methods.

How to effectively get rid of food moths?

Effective moth extermination is not as difficult as it seems. Consistency and accuracy in action are important. Moles most often bred in kitchen cupboards. They like darkness and warmth. Most often they attack loose products, such as rice, flour, groats or oatmeal. But you can also find them in dried fruit, tea and even… chocolate. The first sign of the presence of larvae is a characteristic sticky cobweb in the container or packaging. Where to start eradicating them?

  1. Start by getting rid of any infected products
  2. Then put all loose products into tightly closed containers
  3. Wash the cabinets thoroughly on all sides and dry them

The next and most important step in getting rid of moths will be spreading this product in each cupboard

For permanent protection against moths, spread bay leaves in containers with dry products and in cupboards. Dried citrus peels, including oranges or lemons, will work in a similar way. You can strengthen their effect by sticking cloves into them.
