Wearing a sequined long-sleeve gown designed by Ralph Lauren that covered her head, Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai appeared on the red carpet – in this champagne edition – of the 2023 Academy Awards.
Malala, who won the Nobel Peace Prize, is participating in the ceremony for the first time as one of the nominees in the best short documentary category. His candidacy comes through Stranger at the gate. The documentary is about an American soldier who, full of hatred after fighting in the war, wants to plant a bomb in a mosque. But a warm reception from the people he planned to kill reconnects him with humanity and changes his life. The tape is produced by Malala.

Malala became an international symbol of the fight for girls’ education after she was attacked and shot three times by the Taliban on her way to school. She was only 15 years old.
