He received an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award for his performance.

Thanks to the publicity, Blake also had the opportunity to star in the David Lynch production – “Lost Highway”. The film was about a real murder of an entire family committed by young criminals. The production turned out to be somewhat prophetic for Blake.
In 2001, Blake was charged with the murder of his second wife, Bonnie Lee Bakley. A woman was shot while sitting in a parked car near a restaurant. The actor then returned to the premises where he had left his gun. The testimonies disagreed with the opinions of witnesses who said they had not seen Blake return to the restaurant.
A year later, the actor was arrested and charged. His personal bodyguard was accused of complicity in the crime. The prosecutor demanded the death penalty for Blake. The actor pleaded not guilty. Due to insufficient evidence, Blake was acquitted in March 2005.
