Live Nation is a global concert agency, which in Poland has almost a monopoly on the organization of the largest music events. He is responsible for the performances of stars such as, , Pink, , or . The company’s offer also included a performance by The Weeknd.
The Weeknd in Poland. Tickets available for purchase “no view – only sound”
The prices for the Warsaw concert of the artist as part of the “After Hours Til Dawn Tour” can make your head spin. Currently, we have to pay PLN 1,264 for a CD ticket (plus handling fees and possible shipping of a physical copy of the ticket), while a seat in the low stands close to the stage can cost up to PLN 1,700.
A special offer has also appeared on the Live Nation website. Through the distributor you can buy tickets entitling you to take a seat … behind the stage, they are called “Ticket – no view – only sound”. The price of such a ticket is “only” PLN 221.
When the information about the offer hit Twitter, the network was in an uproar. Live Nation customers are outraged, but they themselves emphasize that they are aware that such tickets will sell out very quickly. And that’s what worries me the most.
The saddest thing is that they’ll even sell something like that. They could drop tickets for PLN 5,000 and still sell out the entire stadium. Until people understand this, Evil Nation (sic! – ed.) will go beyond the limits of embarrassment.
In addition, a thread about visually impaired and blind people who can take advantage of the cheaper option invented by Live Nation appeared in the comments. However, whether buying such a ticket will actually meet their expectations is also debatable. Regulars at concerts at the National Stadium emphasize that the sound heard in the stands leaves much to be desired, so they choose standing places whenever possible.
You have a passion for going to concerts at the National Stadium. You can’t hear a thing wherever you sit.
It’s National? Because if so, then the sound will not be there too much.
Concert organizers have been talking about crossing borders for years. In 2017, a storm in the network caused a performance in GdaĆsk. It turned out that the fans of the band, who bought more expensive tickets to have fun right next to the stage, were misled. The Golden Circle zone was then separated to a large part of the stadium, while by definition it is intended to provide better visibility and closer contact with the artists.
