She chose him in “Blind Date”. When she saw him, she had a bad feeling. It turned out that he is a murderer

In 1978, Cheryl Bradshaw took part in the popular show Blind Date. From three candidates, she chose 35-year-old Rodney Alcala. Nothing aroused her suspicions until she saw her chosen one in person. Her intuition told her not to go on a date with this man under any circumstances.

Born in Texas in 1943, Rodney Alcala enlisted in the military, but was discharged from service after doctors diagnosed him with psychopathy, narcissism, and antisocial personality disorder, which may have been the result of his father’s abandonment at a young age and trauma from the army. Despite the fact that he was a punished and dangerous man, he took part in the “Blind Date” program and almost missed the meeting with the participant.

He seemed calm and smiling. When Cheryl saw him live, something disturbed her

Rodney Alcala committed his first crime at the age of 26 when he kidnapped and raped an eight-year-old girl. He went to prison, and when he was released on parole, he assaulted a 13-year-old girl. He was passionate about photography, but his photos were mostly sexual in nature. In 1978, he took part in the “Blind Date” program. It is not known whether the producers did not check the man’s past or ignored the fact that he was on the sex offender register and should not participate in such programs. During the recording, he presented himself as a cheerful and calm man, which aroused the interest of the contestant Cheryl Bradshaw, who eventually chose him as her candidate. However, as soon as she saw the man in person, she refused to go on a date with him, claiming that she had a slightly bad feeling about him.
