“The new 90s”, an exhibition that the San Telmo Museum has presented today and will inaugurate tomorrow, is an approach to the various artistic groups that worked at the end of the 80s, the 90s and the beginning of the new millennium, “combining their energies with alternative, peripheral and cross-border perspectives based on social, political, intellectual, feminist and environmental commitments”.
As explained by the San Sebastián museum, the exhibition reflects the spirit of initiatives and spaces such as El Gallinero, Zelai Azpi, Zapatari, Arteleku, La Fiambrera, Las Chamas and Consonni.
The sample, whose route is chronological, integrates the parallel social events to that creative movement.
In addition, to complete the exhibition there will be talks with the participation of Odile Kruzeta (April 19), Nicolas Bourriaud (April 28) and Peio Agirre, Asier Pérez and Beatriz Silva, the latter led by Nekane Aramburu, cinusarua of “The new 90s “.
Guided tours can also be made on Tuesdays (10:30 in Spanish and 18:00 in Basque) and on Saturdays (10:30 in Basque and 18:00 in Spanish).
