Tom SizemoreAmerican actor known for his role in the film Saving Private Ryandied at the age of 61, his agent announced on Friday.

The actor suffered a brain aneurysm in February, and yesterday he was disconnected from the device that helped him breathe. Days before that, the doctors concluded that nothing more could be done for him.according to his agent, Charles Lago, the agency details afp.

“It is with great sadness and pain that I have to announce that actor Thomas Edward Sizemore (“Tom Sizemore”), he died peacefully in his sleep in the hospital of St. Joseph in Burbank“, in California, his agent said in a statement.

“His brother Paul and his sons Jayden and Jagger (…) were by his side,” he added.

During his career, Sizemore worked with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, but his most memorable role was as an American soldier in World War II. in a war movie Saving Private Ryan, Directed by Steven Spielberg in 1998.

The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture, and its actors, including Tom Hanks and Matt Damon, were nominated for Best Ensemble Performance by the Screen Actors Guild.

Born in Detroit in 1961. Sizemore worked as an actor in New York in the 1980s.and he played his first prominent role in Oliver Stone’s film born on the 4th of July (1989).

During the 1990s he appeared in other films including True romancewritten by Quentin Tarantino, or Born killersalso from Kamen.

Sizemore suffered from drug addiction, including heroin and cocaine. In 2003, he was convicted of assaulting his girlfriend at the time and spent eight months in prison.

In the following years, drugs got him into trouble with the law on several occasions and cost him another prison sentence.

Despite his personal problems, he continued to work and appeared in television series such as Hawaii Five-0 and Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.
