The owner of the ice cream van was arrested after police discovered the contents of the freezers. The 42-year-old not only had expired license plates and non-working brake lights, she was also transporting drugs.

A 42-year-old resident of Slidell, Louisiana, was arrested by police on February 27 at 11:30 am. The van she was driving had expired license plates and non-functioning stop lights. Earlier, the officers were to receive information that the van was used for drug trafficking. During the search and inspection of the car, the suspicions were confirmed. The woman was carrying not only ice cream in the freezers, but also methamphetamine.

As the detective who is investigating the 42-year-old woman told the media, she may have used the car for drug dealing for several months. Inside, melted ice cream, drugs and suspicious paraphernalia were found.

The woman was arrested for possession of illegal substances and traffic violations. A vehicle labeled “Tami’s Ice Cream & Sweet Treats” was confiscated and its owner was taken to Slidell Prison.

Detectives say there were also two small puppies in the truck. They were donated to the Slidell Animal Shelter.
