The Prado Museum extends its hours on the first Saturday of each month with “The meadow at night“, which will open the art gallery from 20.30 to 23.30with the aim of encouraging visits and getting closer to the public.
The initiative, which has the support of Samsung, will only allow visits to a part of its spaces in a program that aims to spread knowledge of the institution in a sequence, according to the Prado in a statement.
The first opening night will be on March 4th and the Central Gallerywhere you can see pieces of Tintoretto, Titian or Rubens. During these afternoon sessions there will be different musical initiatives and the chance to discover some of the multimedia experiences that Samsung and the museum have created over 10 years of collaboration.
The opening day on March 4 will feature a live broadcast of Radio 3 from the Jerónimos lobby, with a special program dedicated to the Prado and that will add music and creativity to the experience. Admission will be free until full capacity is reached, the last access will be at 11:00 p.m. through the Jerónimos entrance. The museum will keep the cafeteria service open during the initiative.
