Soaking is one of the most important steps in preparing fillets. It makes them gain a unique taste and aroma. This time, instead of using water or , choose cucumber water. This clever trick will make them taste like never before. What’s more, you will use the liquid that you usually pour down the sink. What will you need?

  • 3-4 herring fillets,
  • a small onion,
  • pickled cucumber juice,
  • same amount of oil
  • a bit of pepper,
  • 1-2 teaspoons of mustard
  1. Soak herrings overnight or day in cucumber juice, and then cut them, preferably into thick slices.
  2. Add oil, pepper and mustard to the water from under the cucumbers, mix thoroughly.
  3. Slice the onion into feathers.
  4. Lay out the fish, sprinkle with onion and pour the prepared mixture. Set aside in the fridge for an hour or two. After this time, they will be ready to serve.
