From the willingness to help to several decades of cooperation
The artist’s cooperation with Włodzimierz Korcz began with a nice gesture – together with her husband, she offered the composer a ride in the car. In 1975, she made her way from the radio to the theater with the song “There are such days”. During the short trip, she asked Korcz if he would arrange this piece for her. Not only did he agree, but also thanks to him Majewska won the main prize at the festival in Opole. From then on, she contacted him whenever she was invited to appear on TV shows to help her interpret the compositions. They work together to this day. Working with Korcz was not always the easiest. His works often had a classical form, in particular oratorios, requiring maturity and impeccable technique. Generally, however, I’m good at it – the singer laughed. However, it does not mean that Korcz did not pay her compliments. Today, he believes that the artist’s voice sounds better than 40 years ago.
Musical husband
The close relationship between Korcz and Majewska caused the media to fuel rumors about their alleged romance. Despite the clues and suspicions, both sides vehemently deny them. Korcz has been in a relationship with actress Elżbieta Starostecka since her student years, and Majewska took care of Janusz Budzyński, who died of cancer, until his death, although the marriage officially broke up. Korcza called her “musical husband”, but the agreement on the artistic level ended.
