Ambitious Collette started looking for a job almost immediately after graduation. She had a good education, a university degree, so she thought that there would be no problems with this. Unfortunately, employers were not interested, and some even stated that the 26-year-old woman with Down syndrome “does not fit their company”. After two years, the girl gave up looking for a boring job and decided to start her own business. She asked her mother, who had experience in running a business, for help.

In high school, Collette took cooking classes. She quickly discovered a passion for baking. Even before deciding to start her own, she developed a recipe for chocolate and cinnamon cookies herself. – The cookies were so good that we kept saying: Start selling them – recalled Collette’s mother, Rosemary, in 2017. The girl took these comments to heart and decided to professionally sell cookies.

Collette Divitto founded the company in 2015. Her mother and sister helped her. This is how the Collettey’s Cookies brand was born. At first, Collette baked the cookies herself in a space provided by one of the pastry shops in Boston. The business quickly began to prosper. Today, sales exceed half a million cookies, and the company employs 15 people. Collette is also popular on social media. It is also thanks to her online activity and the sale of sweets via the Internet that she can be called a millionaire.
