The 25th anniversary of the debut of the iconic JK Rowling brought some surprises to the fans. One of them is a collection of limited coins from . So far, the mint has prepared three different designs. On each of the numismatics, in addition to scenes and characters known from the universe of magic and wizardry, there is also a likeness of Charles III.

Albus Dumbledore and Charles III on one coin. Why did the image of the monarch cause a stir?

The last design in the series of collector’s coins is the likeness of Albus Dumbledore. The headmaster of Hogwarts is dressed in a purple robe and hat and is eating his favorite lemon drops. On the wizard’s nose are his typical half glasses. The figure is on the reverse of the coin. The obverse shows the effigy of Charles III.

In previous designs, instead of the face of the monarch, the profile of Queen Elizabeth II appeared. The Mint has no intention of changing the obverse of coins designed before the death of the head of the royal family. For this reason, the Royal Mint coin collection becomes truly unique.

What coins are in the Royal Mint collection? We already know three patterns

So far, the Royal Mint has presented three different coin designs. The former shows the Hogwarts Express, while the latter features an effigy. Both coins have the profile of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. The latest design released by the mint is a 50p coin featuring Albus Dumbledore.

Coins are divided into several types. The cheapest, costs £11 (about 60 zlotys) and looks the most like a regular 50p coin. A frequent choice of fans is a numismatic item with a colored reverse. Both the characters and the Hogwarts Express are embellished with color, making them immediately eye-catching. This edition costs £20 (just over PLN 107). Other, more expensive versions of the coins are also available on the mint’s website, costing up to several thousand pounds.
