The news that they were going to be the parents of a child with Down syndrome was shocking for them. she did not want to take up raising her son, so Misha’s dad decided to become a single parent. How did their fates go?

They did not expect such a diagnosis. “She was terrified”

There was no indication that Misha would be born with Down syndrome. All previous studies ruled it out, so right after the birth of the toddler, the parents were in a huge state. The man felt conflicting emotions, and his words are quoted by the portal:

I was distraught, but I knew it was now my job to support my wife. When the test results came back, which confirmed the diagnosis, I knew that now everything would change. However, there was joy all the time, because my son was born.

The Anisims were happy about the news that they were going to be parents, but the diagnosis changed a lot. Misha’s mother did not take up the upbringing, so Evgeny Anisimov decided that he would do it himself. Misha’s dad recalls:

Now I understand that the situation was beyond her, she was terrified. And so I became a single parent.

More than four years have passed since Yevgeny decided to raise his son on his own. The man makes sure that Misha does not lack anything. He even reorganized his whole life for this reason, abandoning his career in Moscow and moving with his son to his family home. Together with the boy, she attends swimming lessons and a speech therapist, where they started therapy.

Evgeny Anisimov actively maintains an Instagram account. He shares with observatories and observers what their everyday life looks like. In this way, she wants to raise awareness about Down syndrome, and by the way, also support parents who found themselves in a similar situation.
