Although the role in the film trilogy “U Pana Boga za furnace” is one of the most popular in his artistic output, Andrzej Beya Zaborski has many other significant achievements. An outstanding actor, director and educator became involved with the world of film and theater by chance. Today, he is grateful to his wife, thanks to whom he chose this professional path.

Andrzej Beya Zaborski is a graduate of the Puppetry Department of the PWST im. Zelwerowicz in Warsaw. He received the title of actor in 1978 and immediately began working in the profession. He performed not only on theater stages, creating many excellent acting creations, but also proved himself as a director several times. As one of the most outstanding puppeteers in Poland, he passed on his techniques to young adepts of art as a teacher at the university he graduated from.
As he admits, the choice of acting as a professional path was not obvious at all. Beya Zaborski is also a great musician, he played jazz and rock for years, but in his youth, it was not very profitable. At the insistence of his wife, he decided to try his hand at a theater school. “My wife prepared me for drama school. I remember that she prepared me with verse, prose. I was nervous, but I went to school and passed – actor in the Jedynki broadcast.

Beya Zaborski became known to a wider audience as an episodic character in television productions. He performed, among others in “Magda M”, “39 and a half” or “Father Mateusz”. Although he played in “Wesele” and “Traffic Road” by Wojciech Smarzowski, he gained the greatest popularity with the role of commander Henryk in the film trilogy. Beya Zaborski played in three films from the “U Pana Boga” series, and is currently working on the set of the next installment.
According to the actor, the productions in the series have been extremely successful mainly due to the simplicity and truthfulness of the message. He stated that Bromski’s comedies, in which he starred, have a therapeutic mission. I call it therapeutic comedy. When a person has problems, some life complexities, when he watches “U Pana Boga…”, then he feels so good that such miscreants are still walking around and alive – confessed Beya Zaborski, adding that he also loves ordinary life and the little everyday pleasures. The actor revealed that although he often visits the capital due to professional commitments, he does not like big cities, and his oasis of peace is a small village in Podlasie, Ciełuszki. “This is a very strange land. I, for example, do not go abroad at all, except for business. (…) There is life here – he said on Polish Radio.
